Leeds Knights forward Liam Peyton says belief and momentum are growing inside the locker room as the team heads into a crucial stretch of home games at The Castle.

Reflecting on last Sunday’s win, Peyton praised the way the Knights handled a tight opening period before taking control with a three-goal burst.

“We just kind of stuck to the programme and we knew that we were going to win that game,” he said, describing how the group stayed composed in a physical first period before finding their stride. Peyton himself played a major role in that shift, picking up two goals and an assist, a welcome boost after what he admitted had been a quieter spell. “It was nice to kind of get rolling again,” he added, “and we’ll bring that forward into a big weekend coming up.”

And a big weekend it is. League leaders Swindon Wildcats arrive at The Castle on Sunday, the first of three huge home fixtures including back-to-back Yorkshire derbies over the Christmas period. With ticket sales surging for all three games, the Knights know they’ll be skating out in front of a packed, noisy crowd, something Peyton says makes a genuine difference.

“The passion that the fans bring, we feed off it every night,” he said. “It’s a super unique environment we have here at The Castle, and we can’t wait to see it full.”

With belief in the group, momentum building, and The Castle ready to roar, December is shaping up to be a defining month for the Knights.
