The Morley Glass Leeds Knights are delighted to announce the re-signing of Scottish forward Innes Gallacher for the 2026/27 NIHL National League season.
The upcoming campaign will be Gallacher’s fourth in a Knights jersey having first arrived in Leeds during the 2023/24 season where he split his time between three teams: in the SNL with his hometown team Kilmarnock Thunder, in the NIHL 1 with Widnes Wild and then in the NIHL with Leeds Knights. Since then, the 21-year-old has established himself as an important part of the Knights’ forward group across two full seasons in LS11, and now he’s back for another year.
Despite his 2025/26 season being cut short through injury in February, Gallacher still recorded an impressive 25 points – 14 goals and 11 assists – in just 38 appearances across the league and cup competitions, underlining his value to the team.
He stands out with his size, strength and physical style of play and combines a heavy shot with the ability to protect the puck and create opportunities for his teammates. His partnership alongside Oli Endicott and Finn Bradon developed into one of the Knights’ most effective forward lines, providing energy, scoring threat and consistency through recent seasons.
Gallacher played a pivotal role in one of the biggest moments in the club history; helping the Knights lift their first National Cup during the memorable 2024/25 campaign.
Head Coach Ryan Aldridge said: “This one has been done a while - an absolute must have. Innes was having another great year last year before his injury. A big powerful player that knows where the net is. He is another key part to our team and locker room, and I can’t wait to see him back on the ice with the team.”
Speaking on his re-signing, Gallacher said: “I’m over the moon to be back in Leeds for another season. I can’t wait to be back on the ice with the guys and hopefully getting some silverware.”
